| Raw Material & Process : |
Cloth is the basic material. Other accessories used are varieties of beeds, Thread, Chain, Mali, Wool, Steel ring, Motis, Zari, Mirror etc. The process is fairly simple but the quality of work depends upon the skill and dexterity of the artisans. Flat motifs are first cut from cloth or fabric. Specially prepared motifs are prepared separately. These cut pieces and motifs are then superimposed on a base cloth on the basis of predetermined sketch and sequence. The edges of the motifs are turned in and skillfully stitched with colored thread suitable to the design onto the base cloth. Embroidered stitching with or without turned is also applied as per requirement of the work. The specially prepared motifs may be colored or white. The density of embroidery work in the work depends upon the designs and requirements of the product. |
